Rules
1) Pick one of your FCs/OCs
2) Fill in the questions/statements as if you were your FC/OC
3) Tag 3 people at the end of the quiz

1.) What's your name?
Gunny: Master Gunnery Sergeant Gabe O'Malley.
Lillian: Captain Lillian Vanyusha.
One: One Richards.

2.) Do you know why you were named that?
Gunny: 'Gabriel' is the name of one of God's Archangels, but I just go by Gunny to distance myself from the crews I work with. That way, if I'm killed in combat, they won't feel my death as much.
Lillian: Well, my husband's last name is Vanyusha...So, duh...
One: Because I was a military project, I was one of the first official 'classes', so I'm One.

3.) Are you single or taken?
Gunny: That's complicated. I was, but now I've ended up in the future...
Lillian: ...just answered that, didn't I?
One: Single, my husband was killed on a mission years ago.

4) Have any abilities or powers?
Gunny: I'm an Enhance Marine, so I have super strength and super-resiliant armor.
Lillian: I have some mechanical bits, including an eye...that kind of sucks...
One: Telekinesis, which is powerful enough to vaporize you, so don't try anything.

5.) Stop being a Mary-sue.
Gunny: ...
Lily: I'm just damn good. That doesn't mean I'm perfect, it's just training.
One: ...Okay, I guess...

6.) Uh...if you were to get in a fight with a strong wrestler, do you think you'd win?
Gunny: A wrestler? I'd litterally shatter him. I refuse to fight him.
Lily: *makes bang gesture* I don't fight your type of fight.
One: Telekinesis. Again!

7.) Riiiight... Have any family members?
Gunny: My little sister was killed years ago in the Io Incident.
Lily: Hey, my little sister was killed too. My parents...suck.
One: My sisters Five and Susie and my brothers Audie and Lucius.

8.) Oh? How about pets?
Gunny: No time. Combat first, everything else second.
Lily: No, I don't even have a home with my husband. We just keep travelling.
One: Nope, though I want a three-legged dog.

9.) Cool, I guess. Tell me something that you don't like.
Gunny: Seeing innocents suffer. That's why I became a soldier.
Lily: Anyone who tries to kill my husband. Oh, and vampires.
One: ...The surgery to replace/upgrade my cybernetic arm. It hurts like a bitch.

10.) Something that you do like?
Gunny: Training. It keeps me in the top of my game.
Lily: Just being able to spend some calm, quiet time with my Alek.
One: My daughter, Keira.

11) Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
Gunny: Collecting weapons, working out, and reading.
Lily: I love collecting weapons too! I'm starting to like this Gunny guy.
One: I just like relaxing with my daughter Keira.

12.)Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
Gunny: I'm a marine.
Lily: Just 'hurt' someone? Well, the first person I hurt was when I was a kid, I smacked a kid that was making fun of me and calling me a cripple with my crutch. Shut his mouth.
One: Yeah, but who hasn't?

13.)Ever...killed anyone before?
Gunny: ...I'm a marine.
Lily: I'm a captain in the military with my husband Alek. It goes with the job.
One: Yes, but I've been a marine and a bounty hunter. The first person I killed really, REALLY deserved it!

14.)What kind of animal are you?
Gunny: ...
Lily: ...I'm not nearly drunk enough to properly answer this.
One: I'd relate to that three-legged dog I've been looking for, I guess...

15.)Name your worst habits.
Gunny: I may distance myself too much from my friends and the crews on my ships.
Lily: I drink too much, and have...trists with women, though it's okay with Alek.
One: I'm too over-protective of my daughter...and probably a little obsessed with her.

16.)Do you look up to anyone at all?
Gunny: Audie Murphy, most decorated soldier of World War II.
Lily: The female snipers that served my country in World War II.
One: This sounds cheesy, but my adopted-father, Jack Richards.

17.)Gay, straight, or bi?
Gunny: Straight.
Lily: Bi.
One: I have a daughter and a husband. Figure it out.

18.)Do you go to school?
Gunny: Not anymore, graduated years ago.
Lily: Not for years.
One: Nope.

19.) Ever wanna marry and have kids one day?
Gunny: No, I couldn't put a child through my dangerous life.
Lily: Alek can't give me a child, and his is the only one I'd want.
One: Have on, she's pretty good.

20.)Do you have any fangirls/fanboys?
Gunny: ...
Lily: I've gotten a lot of letters asking for pictures, but no stalkers or anything.
One: No, don't think so.

21.)What are you most afraid of?
Gunny: Nothing that I'll ever admit to myself.
Lily: That I'll get killed and have to leave Alek alone forever...
One: Something happening to my Keira.

22.)What colour is your hair?
Gunny: Black.
Lily: Dark gold.
One: A bright, somewhat unrealistic red that matches my eyes.

23.) Eyes?
Gunny: Blue.
Lily: Yes.
One: ...do you need me to repeat it?

24.) What do you usually wear?
Gunny: My armor.
Lily: My uniform, since it gives me an excuse to wear clothes like a man.
One: Just whatever I want, casual and tomboyish clothes.

25.)What's your religion?
Gunny: Catholiscism.
Lily: None.
One: Agnostic.

26.)Do you wish this quiz is over?
Gunny: ...
Lily: No, it let me meet this Gunny guy. He's awesome. Trans-dimensional BFFs!
One: ...It is kind of long.

27.) Well, it's still not over.
Gunny: ...Is that an AK-47 you have, Lily?
Lily: Yeah, want to hold it? I'll let you hold it if I can hold that AA-12.
One: Oh great...now they're comparing guns?

28.) Anyways, where do you live?
Gunny: Wherever I'm assigned.
Lily: on the road.
One: On Alpha Centauri with Keira.

29.) What class are you? (Low class, middle class, high class)?
Gunny: Middle.
Lily: High, I guess, because of Alek's status. I view myself as no class.
One: Middle.

30.) How many friends do you have?
Gunny: Enough.
Lily: Another one, thanks to this long test.
One: A few, but I keep to myself too much.

31.) If you could change anything about you, what would you change?
Gunny: I'm fine with who I am.
Lily: I don't know. I change as I get older, like anyone, so...
One: I don't know...maybe make my eyes a color that doesn't freak people out.

33.) What is your thoughts on pie?
Gunny: ...
Lily: I love strawberry pie.
One: Pumpkin pie's my favorite.

34.) Alright. What's your favourite food?
Gunny: Steak, from anywhere.
Lily: That's a tough question...I'll go with fish.
One: Any type of apple. I'm not picky.

35.) Favourite drink?
Gunny: Whiskey.
Lily: Vodka martini, shaken, not stirred. I love saying that.
One: Captain and coke.

36.) What is your favourite place?
Gunny: In a quiet condo with a view of an endless modern city. I like seeing construction for a change.
Lily: Anywhere with Alek.
One: At home with my family.

37.) Least favourite?
Gunny: Freefall. It makes me feel vulnerable.
Lily: Any active battlefield.
One: Earth. Too many bad memories.

38.) Are you still wanting the quiz to end?
Gunny: ...*turns back to Lily.* You know, I've seen one of these AK-47s modded to have a hundered-round drum.
Lily: A drum THAT BIG? Were they insane?
One: It was an Enhance Marine's gun, so they don't have to follow the 'common sense says this is too heavy' rule.

39.) Well, it's over.
Gunny: My AA-12's one of those custom jobs.
Lily: It shows. This is a fine rifle.
One: Hey, I think they said the quiz is FINALLY over!

40.) Tag 3 people.
Gunny: Here's your rifle back.
Lily: Damn it...Stay in contact, Gunny!
One: Hey, Gunny. What's the future like?

One is unfortunately stuck in limbo right now...Sorry to tease you with the prologue so early, but both EoG: The War and Necromancer are banging on all cylinders. Hopefully I'll get to One after the EoG: The War and Necromancer stories are finished. I have it all planned out already, so it's just a matter of producing it.

22,000 hits and a couple little reviews

22,000 pageviews made me happy. I've been having a mild case of writer's block recently, so work's been slow on my stories. I've got a couple EoG: The War chapters coming up here for you, with a couple little surprises and things for you.

You know what's not helping my writer's block? The games coming out. Batman: Arkham Asylum is AMAZING. They got Kevin Conroy, Mark Hammil, and Arleen Sorkin, or Batman, Joker, and Harley Quinn in Batman TAS, and they're still excellent voice actors and knock it out of the park in this story, especially Hammil. (I will always hear Batman as Kevin Conroy when I'm reading comics) To top it off, they got Paul Dini to write it, so you know the story's in good hands. The gameplay's smooth and easy to control, and far from your usual hack-and-slash like God of War. It takes some skill to pull off combos in the game, and you can upgrade Batman using its RPG style system any way you like, unlocking more combo moves, more health, and better gadgets. They even have a one hit KO weapon. (No kills in this game, of course.) I also kicked the Riddler's ass, which is actually hard to do.

The other game is one that just came out, Halo 3: ODST. Of course, I love this game, it doesn't hurt that it's both Halo and has Mal, Jane, and Wash from Firefly in it. Instead an epic adventure across the universe, this one's more into urban combat. It's a more intimate story, following a small group of characters between Halo 2 and 3. It plays a lot more like the first Halo, which isn't bad, including removing duel weilding and the re-introducion of the health bar. No more just rushing in guns blazing, because you'rae not going to recover your health when your 'sheilds' go back up. they even have a night vision thing and the return of the classic, POWERFUL pistol with a scope. It's pretty cool so far, and the main character doesn't talk...at all. I like that.

An unfortunately necessary tragedy

Seeing a group of protesters saying that the soldiers who dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki should be charged with war crimes...which really means that Truman and the generals that ordered them to do it would be to blame, but let's look into this.

What were the options outside of nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Well, one option was just blockade Japan. Japan had very little resources of its own and would have slowly but surely starved to death. They would have tried to break the blockade of course, and they would have failed, as their navy was destroyed by that point. With their resources cut off, all America would have had to do is wait until every last person on the island of Japan starved to death. It's a horrifying prospect, and could have taken a year or longer.

The other options is what they call X-day, the invasion of Japan. Think of Normandy to the tenth power here. If you are American and reading this, you would NOT be alive had this happened as they expected 3/4 of the massive force sent in wouldn't make it out. I know for a fact that my Grandfather and Great-Uncle would have been part of the invasion force. 'Japanese' would be a dead race, as it was predicted every man, woman, and child in Japan would have fought to the death. An equally horrible prospect.

And there was a positive aspect of the nuking of Japan, and that was that we saw just how truly terrible nuking a city was. It insured that no city has been nuked since. Truth be told, it wasn't even the worst bomb runs, both with death counts and the horrors inflicted, of the war. Look up the following assaults; Coventry, Driesden, even London and Berlin. Hell, they FIRE BOMBED Tokyo. It's far from the most horrible act of the war.

The most horrible act of the war was the Rape of Nanking. Japanese soldiers were allowed to run wild in Nanking, and do horrible, unspeakable acts on the populace. I don't even want to gor into it here, but trust me, it was heinous, haunt your nightmares type crimes. Don't believe me? Look it up, but be prepared to open up Pandora's box. It was so horrible that the NAZI GOVERNMENT filed a complaint with the Japanese government. That's right, the Nazi Government went 'What the fuck are you doing to these people!?'

Just trying to put it into prospective. The nuclear bombing of both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were not war crimes, and while horrible, war itself is horrible. It brought an end to World War II with the fewest casualties possible.

America's the greatest country on the planet Earth, and yesterday, it turned 233. We didn't light off any fireworks, but we did fly 12 DIFFERENT AMERICAN FLAGS from across American history...some which were...uh...how should I put this...flown as historical pieces, not as statements of our political beliefs. That's right, we flew confederate flags, but not the stars and bars. Why? Because they're part of US history and we could get away with all but the stars and bars. We had five different colonial flags, the Union's Civil War flag, the Confederate's three flags, the modern US flag, and a bunch from in between. It was awesome and we should do it more often.

I'm proud to announce that I've become a member of Cafe Press and have designed some merchandise for them. Check them out at Capt. Kyle's Shop. I try to keep mark up low, but I have to make some profit.

Want to see a design on a T-Shirt? Let me know and I'll do my best to make it happen.

Also, in other news, Stompy II lives again, though I'm pretty sure it's an all new X-box, so I guess it's Stompy III now. So, look for me on X-box Live again!
